SHINES Education Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by a California credentialed teacher with more than 15 years of experience. We partner with schools to provide the individualized academic support students need to build confidence, close learning gaps, and achieve lasting success.
To ensure every K–8 student has access to high-quality, evidence-based literacy and mathematics intervention during the school day — regardless of background, learning difference, or family resources.
A community of passionate credentialed and retired educators serving students across more and more schools — so every child who needs additional academic support has the opportunity to truly shine.

I am a California credentialed teacher with more than 15 years of experience serving elementary students. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping children build confidence and achieve academic success.
As a classroom teacher, I saw firsthand that many students needed additional support in reading and mathematics but were unable to receive the individualized intervention they deserved. That drive led me to spend three years as an Academic Intervention Specialist, providing evidence-based instruction to students across multiple elementary schools.
I witnessed both the incredible progress students can make with targeted intervention and the growing need for more individualized support. When district funding changes resulted in the elimination of our intervention program, I saw an opportunity to continue serving students in a different way.
I believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed — and I am committed to helping every student shine.
